Develop your skills in appropriate monologue selection, interpretation and analysis of text, and managing audition anxiety. Gain essential experience developing skills for both face to face and online auditions.

This course can be undertaken as a single unit or paired with Audition Preparation: Heightened Text & Language course.

Pre-requisites

Some performance experience is helpful.

Time Commitment

• Face to face via Zoom: 4 × 2.5 hour sessions
• Pre-course work: Choose a short contemporary monologue (no more than 2 mins long, from the 20th or 21st century. It should be sourced from a play text and not a screen play).
• Self-directed learning: A minimum of 60 minutes between sessions to rehearse monologue

Resources Required to Participate

• Desktop, laptop or mobile with microphone and webcam
• Word processing application (Google Docs, Word or Pages)
• Internet connection
• Notepad and pencil (non-essential)
