Holiday course
A fast-paced intensive course for acting recruits: build skills in fundamental acting technique including improvisation, character development and scenework.
Course components
- Spontaneity: Explore stories, ideas and narrative scene work through improvisation.
- Creative Expression: Participate in fun and engaging acting exercises to develop new creative ideas with others.
- Text analysis: Bring to life through the application of acting technique a short written text for live performance.
- Character Development: Develop a character from a scripted scene for life performance.
- Stage Craft: Consider the elements that contribute to the physical realization of a live performance.

- Flights and Accommodation: From time to time we may need to cancel an advertised course. Before booking flights and accommodation for travel to attend a NIDA Open course, please contact the NIDA Open office to confirm if your course will proceed as planned. NIDA does not accept liability for any associated costs of attendance or cancellation.
- Please ensure that you have given a valid email and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via email or sms.
- Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
- Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
- Participants must provide their own lunch, including snacks and drinks.
- Children attending primary school grade equivalent holiday courses must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.
- NIDA staff will supervise students in courses for Grades 3–6 and Grades 7–10 in their breaks. These students will not be permitted to leave the advertised venue without parental permission.
- If you are running late to collect your child, please call NIDA reception on 02 9697 7600. NIDA will only provide supervision during advertised course times.

Public Transport
Macarthur Girls High School is a 15 minute walk from Parramatta train station, along Hassall St & Macarthur St.
Regular bus services terminate at Parramatta station and also travel along Victoria Rd from the North, which is a short 5 minute walk from the school.

Entry to the school is via Stewart St. Please meet your tutor at the entrance to the school.
