Holiday course
Sharpen your performance skills through a comprehensive workshop with a theatre practitioner drawing on NIDA acting techniques. Develop key principles of actor training, and extend into characterisation and scenework. Interpret, rehearse and present some of the most exciting writing produced for young people today.
Course components
- Apply key principles of NIDA Acting Techniques in scripted performance
- Develop engaging characters through improvisation and rehearsal processes
- Collaborate with a creative team to engage audiences and bring stories to the stage
Outcomes
- Artistic interpretation of a writer’s vision for performance.
- Enhanced confidence in script analysis and character development.
- Awareness of rehearsal techniques to realise a performance of integrity and strength.

Before booking flights and accommodation for travel to attend a NIDA Open course, please contact the NIDA Open office to confirm if your course will proceed as planned. - Please ensure that you have given a valid email and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via email or sms.
- Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
- Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
- Participants must provide their own lunch, including snacks and drinks.
- Students in courses for Grades 11–12 will not be supervised during breaks and are free to leave the venue at designated break times should they wish.

The car park entrance is on Ferguson Lane via Archer Street only.
The car park can only be accessed from the left lane of Archer Street. There is a luminous sign with number of available parking spaces at the intersection of Ferguson Lane and Archer Street.
Accessible parking spaces are available in The Concourse car park and in nearby Endeavour and Spring Streets.

Public Transport
The Concourse is located within a 2-minute walk from major Chatswood transportation hubs, including Chatswood train station and Chatswood Transport Interchange. Buses M40, 273 and 200 depart regularly from CBD locations and stop in front of the precinct.

Please meet your tutor outside The Concourse Box Office, Located on Ground Floor ahead of class – they will then take students to the teaching space.
