Online Course

Great stories come in all shapes and sizes from epic journeys to magical worlds and unlikely friendships. Share ideas and work together with your NIDA Online friends to explore elements of character and storytelling using movement, improvisation and voice. Engage your senses as you discover how puppetry, costume and craft help us create and animate dynamic stories.

Course Components

• Storytelling: Explore stories, ideas and adventures through group and individual improvisation.
• Characters: Experiment with vocal and physical expression to create characters for performance.
• Craft: Participate in improvised scene work to develop basic acting technique.
• Creative Voice: Participate in exercises to develop new ideas and learn how to share these ideas with others.

Resources Required to Participate

• Desktop, laptop or mobile with microphone and webcam
• Internet connection

Time Commitment

• Face to face: 4 × 1 hour sessions

Important information

• Please ensure that you have given a valid email and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via email or sms.
• Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses, even when working from home. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
• Please have to hand a pen, notebook or electronic device and a bottle of water to all classes.
