In today’s hybrid working world, effective facilitation online is vital to keep people motivated and projects moving forward. Truly effective facilitation requires us to authentically engage our teams and seamlessly take them on a journey toward aligned, purposeful outcomes. Managing agendas, keeping topics on track, and making sure all participants are both heard and contributing, is an art.

Your role as a facilitator is to make the meeting easier and more impactful. You are creating an environment that fosters effective collaboration and cooperation to achieve collective goals. The facilitator plays the pivotal part of steering the meeting and driving decisions toward purposeful, aligned outcomes.

The Effective Facilitator will help you be clear about the objectives of meetings, manage group dynamics, and pitch each session with the right amount of detail to keep engagement high. Using NIDA’s innovative, practical, and performance-based approach, you will learn how to develop vital engagement with your team and explore the practical elements of effective facilitation that values individual responses while encouraging collegiality and a platform for collaboration.

The Effective Facilitator is a six-hour facilitation skills course guided by two tutors for up to 10 participants, delivered online via Zoom.

Resources Required to Participate

• Desktop, laptop or mobile with microphone and webcam
• Internet connection
• Notepad and pencil

Time Commitment

• Live via Zoom: 3 × 2-hour sessions (Over two-days)
• Please prepare a short facilitation of up to 5 minutes, which is current and pertinent to your work.
• Some preparation time may be required between sessions.
