Level: Core Techniques

In this intensive skills based course, you will learn and practise specific techniques to master the 3 basic disciplines of the triple threat musical theatre performer: singing, dancing and acting.

Course components

  • Develop basic jazz and tap technique .
  • Learn and practise a variety of vocal techniques and apply appropriately to solo and ensemble musical theatre repertoire .
  • Apply Stanislavskian acting technique to the journey of a solo song

Outcomes

  • Confidence and presence in performance
  • Application of safe vocal and physical warm up and technique to musical theatre repertoire
  • Truthful character portrayal in acting through song.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
  • Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
  • Please bring along a pen, notebook or electronic device and a bottle of water to all classes.
