Overview
NIDA Acting Techniques introduces you to the core foundations of actor training and focuses on developing your ability to create believable and authentic performances. You will investigate a broad range of fundamental acting skills through interactive exercises, engage in improvisation to enhance your spontaneity and explore physicality to improve your presence on stage.
Under the guidance of a NIDA Open teaching artist, you will apply the basics of the Stanislavski system to a variety of scenes and investigate character development to enhance your ability to create authentic performances on stage. In addition, you will work on extending your vocal technique through a range of short texts and exercises, building a deeper awareness and understanding of vocal performance techniques.
