Holiday course
Ensure you are informed and prepared for NIDA BFA Acting auditions. Gain insight into material selection and work with NIDA tutors to explore vocal and physical technique. Work on your audition material to ensure you are open and ready for the challenges of the audition process.
Course components
- Learn how to select, prepare and perform material specifically suited for your audition.
- Establish reliable rehearsal technique to ensure that you can prepare with autonomy and confidence.
- Receive guidance and feedback from an industry expert to ensure you are making creative choices and employing appropriate technique.
Outcomes
- Ability to take direction and be spontaneous during the audition process.
- Ability to self-select and rehearse audition material effectively for NIDA.
- Guidance from a NIDA graduate regarding audition technique and expectations for the day.

- Flights and Accommodation: From time to time we may need to cancel an advertised course. Before booking flights and accommodation for travel to attend a NIDA Open course, please contact the NIDA Open office to confirm if your course will proceed as planned. NIDA does not accept liability for any associated costs of attendance or cancellation.
- Please ensure that you have given a valid email and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via email or sms.
- Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
- Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
- Participants must provide their own lunch, including snacks and drinks.
- Students in courses for Grades 11–12 will not be supervised during breaks and are free to leave the venue at designated break times should they wish.

Parking
There is no parking on-site at NIDA however there is paid parking on the University of NSW campus. The parking is a 10-15 minute walk from the NIDA building and is located at Gate 14 of the campus on Barker Street.
The UNSW parking area next door to NIDA, entrance via Day street, has free parking on weekends only. Other times it has permit parking for UNSW staff only.
There is also free all-day parking on some of the streets behind NIDA such as Day Ave, Doncaster Ave and Mooramie Ave, but places are limited and can fill early if UNSW students are on campus.
Public Transport
The new light rail now stops directly outside NIDA.
From Central Railway Station catch the L3 to ‘Juniors Kingsford’ from either the ‘Haymarket’ or ‘Chalmers Street’ stops and alight at the ‘UNSW Anzac Parade’ stop.

NIDA currently has no associations with any providers to either recommend or offer special rates. We suggest an internet search for the best suitable option for your individual needs.
