Costume and Design Challenge, Grades 7-12
Overview
Embark on a creative adventure and design an amazing theatrical costume for your own unique character! Explore contemporary design techniques and develop rendering skills tailored to a design brief. Collaborate with others and discover the art of creating costumes using recycled clothing and non-traditional fabrics to bring your vision to life. Present your costumed character to family and friends at the end of the course.
Taught by a NIDA Open teaching artist with a wealth of industry experience, this hands-on, fun and engaging course provides a welcoming and collaborative environment for children in Grades 7-12. Develop real-life skills to boost your self-confidence, imagination, teamwork, and creativity in this ultimate design challenge.

- Creative Vision: Participate in fun and engaging design exercises to develop your creative eye
- Drawing: Explore costume rendering techniques to suit the needs of a design brief
