Use text as a stimulus to create original designs and discover how to elevate your character creation skills through styling and application techniques, while mastering the skill of maintaining continuity throughout production.  Safety and creativity go hand in hand, and you will learn best practices to ensure and maintain a safe creative practice under the guidance of a skilled NIDA teaching artist.

Components

  • Design hair and make-up for characters using text as a stimulus.
  • Explore the use of appropriate hair and make-up techniques through application on fellow participants.
  • Design and apply special effects make-up. 

Resources

Students enrolling into Hair and Make-up for Screen should bring the following:

  • Personal make-up kit
  • Any hair tools and products you currently use
  • Any additional materials will be supplied by NIDA

Prerequisites

This course is classified as Core Techniques. Some experience recommended.
