Introduction to Acting, Grades 11-12

Overview

Discover the excitement of performance and acting in this fun and practical one-day introduction to acting course. Young actors will explore techniques in improvisation, acting, and character development, culminating in a chance to road-test their new skills on a short script.  

Our passionate teaching artists, bring their creative practice and industry experience to our classrooms to deliver contemporary student learning in an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive environment. Join us and experience the joy of acting with NIDA Open! 

Components

  • Spontaneity: Introduction to improvisation, discover how it can be used as both a rehearsal technique and performance tool. 
  • Text interpretation: Enjoy interpreting a short script for live performance. 

Prerequisites

This is an introductory course for students exploring professional performance practice for the first time. Please speak to the NIDA Open enrolment team to discuss your learning requirements in detail if you are unsure whether this course is right for you.
