Introduction to Acting on Screen, Grades 7-9

Overview

Excited to explore acting for film or TV but not sure where to start? Take your first step with this fun and practical, one-day introduction to acting on screen course. Discover essential skills including improvisation, script analysis, camera acting techniques and developing your on-screen presence.  

Our experienced NIDA Open teaching artists bring real-world expertise to the classroom to guide you in a collaborative, inclusive environment. Get comfortable on camera and ignite your creativity as you embark on your screen-acting journey at NIDA Open! 

Components

  • Spontaneity: Explore improvisation skills to build a screen performance.  
  • Technique: Establish a relationship with the camera as you explore foundational techniques and develop an on-screen personal presence.
