Mini Pop Stars, Grades K-2

Overview

Step into the spotlight, strike a pose and discover all the moves that make a pop-star! Have fun developing singing skills, creating funky movement routines and exploring vocal and physical expression to create unique musical pop-star characters.

NIDA Open provides a fun, welcoming, creative environment for young performers to meet new friends, develop self-confidence and ignite imagination! Taught by our experienced NIDA Open teaching artists, students will work collaboratively to develop a short presentation showcasing their singing, acting and movement skills at the end of the course. Get ready to move to the beat and unleash your inner pop-star!

Components

  • Voice and song: Develop confidence singing in front of a live audience.
  • Movement: Create simple movement routines to support your mini-musical performance.
  • Performance and Collaboration: Work as part of a team to develop a short ensemble singing, acting and movement presentation.

Prerequisites

This course is designed for children who attend full time school (NSW Kindergarten equivalent). If your child is not yet enrolled in full time, formal schooling, please see our selection of Creative Play courses designed for pre-school children.
