NIDA Acting Techniques: Constructing a Character 

For actors with prior training, this is an opportunity to develop your existing acting skills and trust your creative instincts. Using a set play, explore your character’s journey using a range of techniques to create a dynamic and embodied performance. Explore physical and emotional shifts that drive character choices and engage in challenging exercises designed to heighten your sensory awareness and ensemble connection. 

Components  

  • Developing physical and vocal techniques for creating character.   
  • Exploring status and its role in shaping character relationships.   
  • Extended text analysis. 

Prerequisites

This course is classified as Intermediate
