NIDA Actors Project, Grades 10-12

Overview

Experience the core principles of actor training by joining the NIDA Actors Project! This dynamic course introduces young artists to essential vocal and physical skills for performance, sharpens improvisation abilities and explores foundational elements from NIDA’s renowned acting techniques. You’ll explore devising techniques and learn to work collaboratively as an ensemble of actors, as you work towards synthesising your skills in a final presentation for families and friends.  

Our expert NIDA teaching artists bring extensive theatre industry experience to the classroom, providing opportunities to explore creativity in a collaborative and vibrant environment. Join the NIDA Actors Project and elevate your acting skills to new heights!

Components

  • Acting Technique: Explore NIDA acting techniques to identify the given circumstances of your scene, apply actions and identify your character’s objective with ease.  
  • Character Workshop: Develop engaging characters through improvisation and rehearsal processes.  
  • Voice and Movement: Develop your technique to allow you to make strong physical and vocal choices on the rehearsal room floor.  
  • Devising: Deepen your understanding of the creative process as you collaborate with an ensemble to create new works.
