Collaborate with a NIDA Open Teaching Artist to develop your performance skills and work with an ensemble to explore popular Musical Theatre works. Learn how the voice works to develop your singing technique and explore how to create believable characters for the stage. Present your work for your friends and family at the end of the course.

Components

• Voice and Song: Learn how the voice works; develop confidence with singing technique and performance.  

• Acting Technique: Learn and apply NIDA acting technique in a musical theatre performance.  

• Physical awareness: Understand movement and how it can inform character and storytelling choices.                       

• Performance: Apply acting, singing and movement practice to a short rehearsed, musical presentation.
