Overview

Deepen your connection to character and story in this intermediate musical theatre course focused on authentic performance through song. Led by an experienced NIDA Open teaching artist, this course builds on foundational skills to explore the demands of solo performance. Apply the Stanislavski acting system to musical theatre repertoire, strengthen your vocal technique, and refine your ability to communicate intention and narrative through song. Develop confidence, stage presence, and the tools needed to deliver compelling, character-driven performances.   

Ideal for performers ready to move beyond the basics and grow as singing actors.  

Components  

  • Explore vocal techniques and application to musical theatre repertoire. 
  • Apply the Stanislavski system of acting to inform musical storytelling. 
  • Explore text analysis and character development. 

Prerequisites

This course is classified as Intermediate.
