Space Travellers: Intergalactic Adventures, Grades K-2

Overview

Fly to the moon, swing on a star but beware the black hole! Create intergalactic characters and explore the outer reaches of the universe in an out-of-this-world acting adventure. Devise scenes based on the characters you create and present your original stories for family and friends at the end of the course.

NIDA Open’s teaching artists bring their creative practice and industry expertise directly to the classroom where young students can develop confidence, make new friends and engage in practical voice and movement exercises. Unleash your inner hero and excite your imagination in this collaborative and inclusive setting.

Components

  • Creative Voice: Participate in fun and engaging drama exercises inspired by stories from outer space.
  • Storytelling: Explore stories, character adventures and creative problem solving through group and individual improvisation.
  • Physical Expression: Participate in exercises that promote expressive movement, physical command and spatial awareness.

Prerequisites
