The Confident Voice

Overview

The Confident Voice is perfect for those eager to enhance their vocal technique or simply gain greater self-assurance in speaking. This course provides a comprehensive approach to connecting voice, breath and body, helping you discover the freedom to speak with confidence and clarity. 

Throughout the course, you’ll learn essential vocal techniques that improve dexterity and explore the powerful relationship between voice and imagination. You’ll practice applying your vocal skills across various texts and contexts, ensuring you communicate your intentions effectively and with precision. 

Join a NIDA Open teaching artist in a supportive and encouraging environment, to discover newfound confidence in linking your imagination to speech and the ability to speak with clarity and impact in a variety of situations.  

Components

  • Exercises in body awareness and the body/breath connection. 
  • Technical exercises in clarity, tone, muscle control, power & resonance. 
  • Imaginative application of vocal skills to a variety of dramatic texts, speeches and presentations.

Course outcomes

At the completion of The Confident Voice you will have a better understanding of the various elements of voice, confidence to connect your imagination to speech, and the ability to speak with clarity and confidence in a range of contexts. 

Prerequisites

This course is classified as a Beginner course.

Even though there was a range of abilities in the class, we worked in a way that catered to everyone as a group and individual…I received great advice, improving my skills in a fun and energetic environment. Jack was very engaging and allowed us to try new things without feeling judged. I would definitely recommend this course.
