Overview

Are people born wicked, or do they have wickedness thrust upon them? Develop your singing and storytelling skills in this gravity-defying adventure, inspired by the spellbinding tale of Wicked. Collaborate with your fellow Ozians as you explore acting technique to create believable characters and engage in movement and choreography workshops to build dynamic routines that will have you dancing through life.

Work with a NIDA Open Teaching Artist as they bring their creative practice and industry-experience into the rehearsal room, where everyone deserves a chance to fly.

Components

  • Voice and Song: Learn how the voice works; develop confidence with singing technique and performance.
  • Text interpretation: Bring to life through the application of acting technique a musical theatre song text.
  • Collaboration: Incorporate and develop shared ideas into a live presentation.
  • Performance: Apply acting and singing technique to a short, devised musical presentation.
