Actors Studio Extension – Audition
Discover. Create. Transform.
Working closely with industry professionals, this course explores advanced audition and screen acting techniques to further enhance your individual strengths in performance. Expand your technical skill set by adopting the roles of key personnel in the creative team and gain greater understanding of the collaborative nature of bringing work to the screen.
Actors Studio Extension is ideal if you have completed our Actors Studio or Screen Actors Studio, or if you have equivalent industry training or experience.
To ensure quality of delivery, intake for this Studio is limited to 12 students.
Components
- Advanced Screen Craft: Explore challenging contemporary acting processes and learn how to apply these to complex scene work.
- Screen Tests and Castings: Develop the skills to confidently navigate casting briefs, audition sides, and cold reads, while responding to contemporary casting practices and industry expectations.
- Performance in Practice: Work with a professional director on contemporary Australian scenes. Develop your ability to independently interpret text, respond to direction, and deliver nuanced performances in a studio environment.
- On Location: Through collaboration with a professional cinematographer, deepen your understanding of the camera’s role in storytelling and strengthen your relationship with the camera. Refine your technical precision through framing, continuity, and movement while performing in onlocation screen environments.

Prerequisites
Previous experience necessary. We recommend applicants complete Actors Studio or equivalent training before applying to this course – entry to Actors Studio: Screen Extension is by application and selective audition only.

Course Fees
The course fee is $5215. This is payable in four instalments across the year or upfront with a 10% discount ($4,693).
A separate non-refundable audition fee of $38 applies.
