NIDA Studios are for committed and creative individuals seeking an intensive and practical training experience.
Develop your skills in a Studio program
Designed to develop skills and techniques in the performing arts, NIDA Studios deliver rigorous, practice-driven, part-time training in a supportive and collaborative environment. Studios are offered in acting for stage and screen, musical theatre, directing, and writing. Whatever your goals, a NIDA Studio will be a transformative step in achieving your aspirations.
Students complete a NIDA Studio having gained an understanding of their personal creative process and a skill set that prepares then for full-time training. NIDA Studios are a first step towards exploring a career in the performing arts, or simply an opportunity to enhance your personal and professional creative life.
Studios are delivered on weekends over six or 12 months with a twice-yearly intake. Entry into a course is by audition or interview only.
Auditions and interviews are available in from 12 December 2026. Studios commence February 2027.

Our teaching artists bring their creative practice and industry experience to our classrooms to deliver contemporary student learning. Selected for their exceptional teaching ability, knowledge and extensive industry experience, they provide students with individual feedback, direction and guidance ensuring you get the most out of your training.
Many of our tutors are also NIDA graduates, bringing firsthand experience and insights from one of the world’s leading performing arts institutions directly to you.

Entry to Studio courses is by audition or interview, which serve as an opportunity for us to get to know you and for you to ask questions about any aspect of the training. Once enrolled, you will be sent information about how to prepare for your audition or interview.
You will have an opportunity on the day to collaborate with others and respond to direction. A non-refundable audition/interview fee of $38 will be charged.

Studio students receive a Certificate of Achievement at the end of their course.
You can contact us one week prior to the commencement of the course to find out who is teaching. Please keep in mind that at times it is necessary for us to make staffing changes at short notice.
