NIDA Online: The Creative Voice

Adults (18+)

Level: Beginner

Whether it’s online or face to face, your voice is a powerful tool for expressing your ideas and creativity. Using a combination of online teaching tools, you will learn about the anatomy and potential of your voice. Engaging the tools of the actor, you will strengthen and expand your vocal dexterity and confidence and apply these skills to a variety of exercises and performance-based activities.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand the anatomy of the voice and its functions
• Develop the ability to practise and apply vocal skills independently
• Understand the necessity for vocal clarity for creative expression both online or face to face

Resources Required to Participate

• Desktop, laptop or mobile with microphone and webcam
• Internet connection
• Notepad and pencil

Time Commitment

• Face to face via Zoom: 3 × 2 hour sessions
• Self-directed learning: approx 1 hour total between face to face sessions.
