Overview

Explore techniques to expand your actor’s toolkit in this dynamic stage and screen course. Develop essential acting and performance skills, approaches to text analysis and character development, and build voice and movement skills for both live and recorded performances.  

Our expert NIDA Open teaching artists bring their creative practice and industry experience directly into the classroom, ensuring contemporary, engaging student learning. Under their guidance, you’ll explore your inner-actor and showcase your discoveries in a final presentation to family and friends at the end of the course. Join us and ignite your passion for performance! 

Components

  • Text interpretation: Interpret and bring to life a short-written text for live and recorded performance.  
  • Technique: Explore NIDA’s acting technique to identify the given circumstances of your scene, apply actions and pinpoint your character’s objective with ease.  
  • Performance Craft: Consider the elements that contribute to the physical realisation of a live and recorded performance.
