WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY

The Confident Voice

Even though there was a range of abilities in the class, we worked in a way that catered to everyone as a group and individual…I received great advice, improving my skills in a fun and energetic environment. Jack was very engaging and allowed us to try new things without feeling judged. I would definitely recommend this course.

Eli, Sydney

Acting: An Introduction

The teacher was very entertaining and engaging. He pushed me in a way that was highly encouraging. My apprehension and nerves faded quickly. The topics covered were also very useful.

Travis, Student

Acting Essentials

10/10. I took the course to develop my social confidence. Excellent teacher, great vibes, fantastic programme.

About Us

NIDA Open is Australia’s premier short-course program in the performing arts, offering thousands of practical, creatively rich experiences each year across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. We welcome participants into a supportive community delivering fun, skill-building training in acting, writing, screen, design, direction and more.

Taught by working industry professionals and NIDA’s own esteemed teaching artists, these courses are grounded in NIDA’s world-class conservatoire practice – meaning you learn by doing, collaborating and showcasing your work through open sessions and final performances.

Whether you’re exploring a passion, building confidence, or preparing for further study or a career in the arts, NIDA Open offers flexible, hands-on training that’s inspiring, accessible, and uniquely NIDA.

NIDA acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we learn and tell stories, the Bidjigal, Gadigal, Dharawal and Dharug peoples, and we pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present.
