Peter Mountford

Peter is an accomplished director, acting tutor and drama education specialist with over 30 years' experience. He holds a BA Hons in Dramatic Arts from Bretton Hall, a Post Grad Cert in Education from Institute of Education – University College London, and a Post Grad Cert in Directing Text with Young People from Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. He toured throughout the U.K. as a performer with physical theatre company fecund theatre and is artistic director of G.Bod Theatre. Directing credits include Mark Ravenhill’s Citizenship at the Greenwich Theatre, the musical Pack Up Your Troubles at the National Theatre, London, the Sydney premiere of Chris Lee’s Shallow Slumber, Richard Zajdlic’s Dogs Barking for pantsguys productions, A View of Concrete and The Killing of Sister George for G.bod Theatre and both writing and directing credits for the acclaimed one-person shows Queen Bette, with Jeanette Cronin as Hollywood icon Bette Davis, and Wyngarde!, with Garth Holcombe as infamous British actor Peter Wyngarde. He has regularly directed for London Black History Month and is a member of the U.K.-based Young Vic Genesis Directors' Project. Peter has developed learning programs and taught acting extensively in the U.K., Malaysia, and Australia, including NIDA, Actors Centre Australia, The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence, Newtown High School for Performing Arts, Leyton Sixth Form College, Central School of Ballet, London Metropolitan University and University of Sarawak, Malaysia. He was Course Manager of Youth and Holidays for NIDA Open from 2010 to 2012, and has been Program Manager in Melbourne since 2019.
