Public Transport

Cockatoo Island is accessible by ferry from Circular Quay, wharf 5 and the cost of the ferry is included in your course fee. Please follow the instructions below regarding travel to and from the island.

Circular Quay is accessible by train via the city circle line and is also the terminus for several Sydney bus routes. Please note as this is a CBD venue, bus journeys can take longer than expected in peak hours and allow enough time for your trip.

Other Information

Please meet your tutor at Circular Quay no later than 10am, outside Wharf 5, so that you can all can catch the 10:07am ferry from Circular Quay to Cockatoo Island. The tutor will be wearing a yellow lanyard and will take a roll call before departing for the island. Your tutor and the rest of the class will travel back to Circular Quay together at the end of each day.

Should you miss the ferry please call the NIDA office on 02 9697 7626 so we can let the tutor know to expect you. You will need to buy a ticket and make your own way to the island on the next available boat.
