Level: Core Techniques

Learn to connect voice, breath and body and discover the confidence to speak freely. Learn technical vocal processes to improve your vocal dexterity and explore the relationship between voice and imagination. Apply your vocal skills to a variety of texts and contexts so you can communicate your intention with clarity. This course is ideal for both actors and those wishing to increase their vocal confidence .

Course Components

• Exercises in body awareness and the body/breath connection.
• Technical exercises in clarity, tone, muscle control, power & resonance.
• Imaginative application of vocal skills to a variety of dramatic texts, speeches and presentations.

Outcomes

• Understanding of the various elements of the voice.
• Confidence connecting the imagination to speech.
• Ability to speak with clarity and confidence in a variety of contexts.

• Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
• Please wear closed in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
• Please bring along a pen, notebook and bottle of water to all classes.
