Producing for the Stage (Session 1)

Discover the practical skills and industry knowledge to get your show in front of an audience! Gain an understanding of how to pitch an idea, submit project applications and manage a project from rehearsal to performance.

Course Components

• Consolidating your idea and gathering a creative team.
• Managing budgets and timelines
• Marketing your show and touring

Outcomes

• Understanding of the process of mounting a production
• Confidence in managing a budget, marketing strategy and timelines
• Confidence getting your project started

Producing for the Screen (Session 2)

Do you have an idea for a short film, a feature or a pitch for new series? Learn how to turn it into a reality. Gain a thorough understanding of the process of completing a screen project: the importance of a solid creative foundation, gathering a creative team, finance and the practicalities of driving a project.

Course Components

• The life of a project: the journey from concept to distribution
• The practicalities of getting a shoot off the ground
• After the shoot: post production and film festivals

Outcomes

• Ability to get your project started
• Knowledge of industry protocols and platforms to promote your work
• Understanding of the demands and practicalities of producing for the screen

• Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
• Please bring along a pen, notebook or electronic device and a bottle of water to all classes.
