Skills NT - Make-up and Hair Essentials for Screen

Discover how make-up and hair play a part in creating believable characters for on screen performance. Experiment with styling and application techniques and learn how to create special effects that have dramatic impact.

Course components

  • Design hair and make-up for characters using text as a stimulus
  • Explore the use of appropriate make-up techniques through application on fellow participants
  • Apply special effects make-up to re-create bruises, injuries and gore. Experiment with fake blood and nu-skin putty for screen characters

  • Effective application of make-up for screen using the correct techniques
  • Ability to develop make-up and hair design using text as stimulus for a broad range of characters
  • Effective application and design of special effects make-up

Pre-requisites

Professional experience in hairdressing or make-up application required.

Course enrolment is open to people over 18 years old. This course is available specifically for residents of the Northern Territory.

All course materials will be provided.
