Musical Theatre Boot Camp, Grades 3-6

Holiday course

Work with a NIDA musical theatre expert to create a short song and story presentation for stage! This is a great way to introduce yourself to the magic of musical theatre and find out just what it takes to become a musical theatre star! Present your song and story presentation to family and friends at the end of the course.

Course components

  • Voice and Song: Learn how the voice works, develop confidence with singing technique and performance.
  • Creative Expression: Participate in fun and engaging acting exercises to develop new creative ideas with others.
  • Text interpretation: Bring to life through the application of acting technique a musical theatre song text.
  • Staging: Consider staging techniques and learn musical performance stagecraft.
  • Performance: Apply acting and singing practice to a short, devised musical presentation.

  • Flights and Accommodation: From time to time we may need to cancel an advertised course. Before booking flights and accommodation for travel to attend a NIDA Open course, please contact the NIDA Open office to confirm if your course will proceed as planned. NIDA does not accept liability for any associated costs of attendance or cancellation.
  • Please ensure that you have given a valid email and mobile number as any course changes will be communicated via email or sms.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in for all drama and performance related courses. Clothing that restricts movement is inappropriate.
  • Please wear closed-in shoes. Shoes may be removed in the rehearsal room on the direction of the class tutor.
  • Participants must provide their own lunch, including snacks and drinks.
  • Children attending primary school grade equivalent holiday courses must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.
  • NIDA staff will supervise students in courses for Grades 3–6 and Grades 7–10 in their breaks. These students will not be permitted to leave the advertised venue without parental permission.
  • If you are running late to collect your child, please call NIDA reception on 02 9697 7600. NIDA will only provide supervision during advertised course times.
